Bourbon Town Council Approves Central Square Contract

The Bourbon Town Council members reviewed a contract with Central Square to provide a better process of completing police reports for Bourbon officers.

Bremen Police Sergeant Carl Amsden told the council members at their most recent meeting that the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department is updating its Computer Aided Dispatch system and will allow all departments to be able to see all information on suspects and other department’s reports to better assist officers in obtaining information for investigations.

Amsden said it would simplify the process for the Bourbon Police Department and expand upon what the officers currently do.

The contract for the service is through Central Square which is the same contract that has been distributed to all municipal departments in the county.  Each community will pay a different fee for the service.  The cost for Bourbon is $2,872.67 for the build year and for each year up to five years.  After five years, the cost will increase five percent.

The Bourbon Town Council approved the contract pending Town Attorney Alex Hoover’s review with a unanimous vote.

Meanwhile, the council members approved a motion to receive sealed bids on a 2012 Dodge Ram pickup used by police officers.  Bids will be accepted until 4 p.m. on Friday, January 8 and opened at the council’s next meeting on January 12.
