The Argos Town Council members reviewed bids for the 20 acres of farmland up for lease this year. The land is in the Argos Industrial Park on Dewey Street.
The council agreed to accept bids until the end of the business day on November 30 for the lease. Two bids were received but one bid was date stamped on December 1 so Town Attorney Derek Jones advised the council that it is a non-conforming bid since it was received after the deadline. It was not opened.
The other bid was received on November 23. The bidder was William Voreis who submitted a bid of $142.10 per acre. The council members approved the bid for $142.10 with a unanimous vote. The lease is good for up to three years.
