Marshall County Officials Approve Community Crossings Matching Grant Application

The Marshall County Council and Marshall County Commissioners recently approved a request for the next Community Crossings Matching Grant round.

Marshall County Highway Superintendent Jason Peters said after this year’s projects were bid under budget, he applied for more grant money to cover crack sealing projects on Michigan Road from 1st to Tyler (County Road Line), Elm Road from Lincolnway to U.S. 30 and Plymouth-Goshen Trail from U.S. 6 to the County Line.

“The total was $27,000,” stated Peters.  “For this call, the State’s match would be $20,250, and the county’s match would be $6,750.  As mentioned, if the projects are approved by INDOT we would use the Special LOIT Distribution funds for the matching money.”

The application has been submitted and the award notices should be announced in the next couple of months.
