A South Bend man was arrested after allegedly leading police on a pursuit through Marshall County Friday. Indiana State Police say it began around 2:50 p.m. in the area of U.S. 30 and King Road, when police saw an SUV matching the description of one believed to be involved in an armed robbery at a Bourbon business.

Officers say the vehicle fled north on King Road and then turned eastbound near Lake of the Woods. It reportedly hit stop sticks placed by the Bremen Police Department at 3A Road and East Shore Drive, but continued northbound with a deflated tire on Plymouth-Goshen Trail to State Road 106. There, police say it drove into a bean field. The driver, Tyler Davis, 29, then allegedly tried to flee on foot but was taken into custody.

State Police say the SUV was reported stolen out of Chicago, and they found items inside that they suspect were from the robbery. Davis was taken to a hospital before being taken to the Marshall County Jail. He faces preliminary charges of armed robbery, possession of stolen property, and resisting law enforcement with a vehicle.

The Marshall County, Bourbon, and Bremen police departments assisted Indiana State Police. The alleged robbery remains under investigation with the Bourbon Police Department.
