Plymouth City Attorney Provides Update on Demolition of Lake Avenue Property

Plymouth City Attorney Sean Surrisi updated the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members this week on efforts to demolish an unsafe building at 701 W. Lake Avenue.

Surrisi confirmed that Langfeldt Excavating LLC was the lowest responsible bidder at $12,900.  The paperwork was reviewed and company representatives were notified of the bid award last week.

Officials are now waiting for confirmation that all of the utilities have been retired at the property.  The electrical meter was removed, but there are questions about overhead electrical lines.  Once that information is confirmed, the process can continue. The gas service was confirmed to be retired.

Demolition crews have 90 days to complete the process from the time the bid was awarded.
