Bourbon Town Council Authorizes Street Superintendent to Continue Repairs to Splash Pad

The Bourbon Town Council members reviewed costs for repairs to the splash pad.

Street Superintendent Roger Terry said that about $10,000 has been spent on repairs so far.  An extra expense will be spent to move a computer to run the system in the park pavilion.  An electrician who could experience security system installer will need to come in and put the infrastructure in place.

Bourbon Clerk-Treasurer Kim Berger said the money would come from the equipment line item in the budget.

“We just ended up not buying any new playground equipment or anything like that at the park this year due to the fact we had all of the issues with the splash pad,” commented Berger.

Council President Ward Byers asked Terry if the splash pad will be operable in the spring.  Terry commented that it is the intention to have that feature in operable condition in the spring.

The council members agreed to allow Terry to move forward with the project and come back with a dollar amount to be reviewed and approved.
