Culver-Union Township Fire Chief Ken VanDePutte told the town council members last week that the fire department’s new aerial fire truck should arrive today.
VanDePutte said the Rosenbauer 100-foot low-profile Viper aerial fire truck recently went through a pre-delivery inspection phase in Missouri and it went through final inspection last week.
The truck was assembled in different areas of the country for a variety of installation pieces throughout the process.
The aerial was purchased at a price of about $1,008,000. The funds came from the Town of Culver, Union Township, Culver Academies, and as many as 125 donors.
The new aerial fire truck will help firefighters battle fires and perform rescues from a building that is more than two stories tall.
