All of the road work planned this year in the area of North Michigan Road north of the roundabout in Plymouth is complete, according to Marshall County Highway Superintendent Jason Peters.
He told the Marshall County Commissioners Monday morning that 7th Road, 5D, Keyser Subdivision, and 4B Roads were covered with millings from Walsh and Kelly’s work on North Michigan Road and it was sealed. 4A Road was chip and sealed to the Bridge over U.S. 31, 6C Road was paved with pug millings and then chip and sealed, and 5C Road, 7B Road and 6th Roads were wedged with pug millings with chip and seal work. 5th Road was chip and sealed.
Peters said all of these repairs totaled about $210,000. If the county highway department would have done hot mix asphalt on these roads, it would have been more than double the cost.
Several other projects remain on this year’s road program including work on Thorn Road, 17B Road from State Road 331 to Cedar, 1st Road, South Shore at Lake Max, and Fir Road.
Peters plans to request additional funds to work on King Road, 11th Road from South Michigan to Railroad, and Castle Drive from 11th to Lopine. E&B Paving and Walsh and Kelly crews will be doing work in those areas.
