The Culver Town Council members will soon be gathering public input on how to utilize space on the upper floor of the Culver Beach Lodge.
The council members heard from the Antiquarian and Historical Society of Culver members about occupying the space with an agreement to improve the space with funds coming from the organization. They would then have that area leased for free for two years.
Councilman Bill Githens thought previous discussions involved the Antiquarian and Historical Society and the Culver Visitor’s Center both occupying the space.
Council President Ginny Bess Munroe suggested engaging the public on use of the space as they have with other similar public projects. She stated that it would be ideal for planning purposes so it fit the needs determined by the public.
Munroe said the same could be said for the property obtained at 530 S. Ohio Street last fall.
Town Manager Jonathan Leist said he would work with Park Superintendent Amber Cowell in developing a poll for the public to gauge interest.
