Two Arrested for Allegedly Plotting Active School Threat

Two teens were arrested in Rochester on Friday, July 31 after an investigation into alleged threats against a school.

According to the Rochester City Police Department, an investigation by officers began on July 13.  Officers from the Rochester City Police Department, Fulton County Sheriff’s Department and the Indiana State Police executed search and arrest warrants on July 31 at residences at 6th Street and N. Meridian Road in Rochester where they reportedly found pieces of evidence to corroborate threats against a Rochester school.

John Lawrence Schultz IV, 18, and Donald Victor Robin Jr., 17, were charged with conspiracy to commit murder, a Level 2 Felony, and intimidation as a Level 6 Felony.  Schultz is being held at the Fulton County Jail.  Robin is under the age of 18, but due to his age and the severity of the charges he was automatically waived to adult court, but he is being detained at a juvenile facility, according to the report.

Both suspects were in Fulton Superior Court for initial hearings on Tuesday, Aug. 4 where Christopher Lee was appointed as defense counsel for both Schultz and Robin.  A tentative trial setting was scheduled for Jan. 26, 2021.

Police believe that any active threat toward the school has been eliminated.

Suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
