The Boys and Girls Club of Marshall County will be getting some transportation help thanks to the Plymouth Community School Board.
Superintendent Andy Hartley presented a resolution to the school board members that allows the school corporation to donate an older school bus to the Boys and Girls Club of Marshall County.
“They’ll utilize it to pick up students who go to the club after school each day,” explained Hartley. “In years past, we had been providing that transportation as part of our alternate bus stop system. However, in our attempts to eliminate our bus shuttle and reduce our ridership, this might help us in the long run here.”
As part of the process, Hartley said the school bus must be decommissioned.
“We have to take certain things off like the name of the school, the school number, certain lights, and it can’t be the school bus yellow.”
The school board members approved the resolution with a unanimous vote.
