Plymouth BOW Considers Parking Restriction on Clark Street

The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members considered a recommendation to restrict parking on the north side of the street on Clark Street between Lincoln and Pearl Streets.

If cars park on both sides of the street, Fire Chief Rod Miller said fire trucks do have trouble maneuvering down the narrow street.

Street Superintendent Jim Marquardt sent letters to eight property owners in the area to notify them of the potential change as discussed during the July 14 meeting and could comment during this week’s meeting.

Dean Byers, the Director of Habitat for Humanity, said he’s in favor of the parking restriction on the north side of the road.  With the current construction of Habitat homes in that area, it is difficult bringing in materials with parking on both sides of the street.

One resident expressed concern about where to place recycle bins and garbage bins for pick up if everyone is parking on the south side of the street.  Marquardt said he will get a hold of the garbage contractors to work on that issue.

The board members unanimously approved a motion to approve the restriction of parking on the north side on Clark Street between Lincoln and Pearl Streets.
