The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members approved two bids for two different projects planned for this year in the city.
Utility Superintendent Donnie Davidson recommended to the board that the lowest responsible bidder be awarded the Centennial Crossings lift station and force main project. He said after review it was found that Haskins Underground’s bid of $237,250 was the lowest and most responsible. He noted that it was well below the engineer’s estimate of $350,000. The board unanimously awarded the bid to Haskins Underground.
After reviewing the bids and the budget, City Engineer Rick Gaul recommended awarding the 2020 street and sidewalks projects to the lowest and responsible bidder, Walsh and Kelly, in the amount of $602,523.35. This year’s projects include paving on Berkley, Fairbanks, Columbus, 6th Street, Washington, Adams, and the police station alley. Mill and fill will also be done on the Plymouth Police Department’s parking lot and the Park Department’s office building parking lot.
