The road construction project on North Michigan Road north of Plymouth is expected to be done in by the end of next week, if all goes well.
Marshall County Highway Superintendent Jason Peters gave the commissioners an update on Monday. He said the berms have been pushed back and the culvert pipes have been installed.
Peters commented, “The milling process has been completed. All of those millings went to the 5C pit. There is about 20,000 ton there. One lane of binder is done and they started the second lane back.”
Peters said the millings will be used to pave the dead-end roads off of North Michigan.
In other work by the Highway Department this summer, Peters said crews have worked on several miles of triple chip and seal projects.
“We have finished up Lincolnway from Union to U.S. 30, Olive from 7th to 6th has been completed, 7th from Oak to Queen has been completed, and Jarrah from Ironwood to Plymouth-Goshen Trail has been completed on a triple seal.”
Additionally, INDOT has been doing mill and fill work on State Road 10 near Culver and those millings will be used by the highway department for future paving projects.
