Culver Town Council Reviews Amendment to Traffic Ordinance

The Culver Town Council members reviewed a proposed amendment to the traffic ordinance last week.

The amendment would allow the town to lower the speed limit to 10 mph on an unnamed access road immediately north and east of 1004 West Shore Drive, known as Chadwick Shores Condominiums.

The change comes as an opportunity to solve complaints about speeding in the area and to maintain public safety.

If a person violates the ordinance, the offender shall pay a penalty no less than $5.00 or more than $25 for each and every offense.

A crosswalk is also planned in the area.

The Culver Town Council members unanimously approved the first reading of the ordinance amendment.

The Town Council is also looking to name the access road in the near future.  They will solicit input from the residents in that area on a street name.  A letter will be sent to those few residents to receive comments.
