Culver Town Council Members Still Reviewing Utility Relief Paperwork

The Culver Town Council members will continue to look into the possibility of offering utility relief to larger companies in town.

Council President Ginny Bess Munroe brought the possibility to the council members in July saying that bigger companies were not eligible for utility relief benefits in the first round of applications as it was geared to assist smaller businesses.

Munroe said Clerk-Treasurer Karen Heim put together a spreadsheet of utility costs of the larger companies in town for the council’s review.

Councilman Rich West suggested that they look at the Culver Academies and the Culver Community School Corporation buildings separately, but agrees that they should look into offering utility relief for the bigger companies.

Munroe commented that the council members should take a longer look into the program and asked for this topic to be on the next council agenda on Aug. 11.
