The Argos Town Council members reviewed an additional resolution Wednesday night that would complete the tax abatement request process for Altium Packaging.
A public hearing was held to take comments on the proposed request. The company plans to install $3.3 million worth of equipment and space for expansion with the addition of 10 to 13 new jobs. Lines will be added for the manufacture of plastic bottles and packaging the product. The average wage is about $15 an hour.
The tax abatement would be on a 10-year graduated scale with 100 percent abatement the first year, 90 percent the second year with a 10 percent decrease each year until the 10 year abatement is fulfilled.
There were no public comments during the hearing.
The council members proceeded to approve a resolution that confirms the property as an Economic Revitalization Area which approves the tax abatement.
