The Triton School Corporation is delaying the start of school to August 17. Students had been scheduled to return to class next Wednesday.
According to a message posted on the Triton School Corporation Facebook page, the Marshall County Health Department asked schools to either delay the start of the year or begin virtually. Superintendent Jeremy Riffle said school officials ultimately decided that delaying the first day of class was the better option for students and families. However, Triton is also offering a digital learning option.
Locally, Bremen Public Schools has also delayed the start of the school year, while Plymouth, Union-North, and John Glenn will start the year virtual-only. Argos Community Schools has both pushed back the start date and switched to virtual learning.
