The Marshall County Commissioners want to be ready with technology upgrades to better serve residents in a virtual manner.
Marshall County Commissioner Michael Burroughs said he enlisted the help of IT Director Michael Marshall in getting what would be needed to live stream meetings online, in case August may bring in a large surge of coronavirus cases.
“It’s a camera in the back of the room and in the front of the room, and it will also use a capture card for any presentations that are done,” explained Burroughs. “It will also record our voices and livestream our voices. All of this came in at $21,771.60.”
Burroughs said the expense could be reimbursed with CARES Act funds.
IT Director Michael Marshall will write up a project proposal and submit it to EMA Director Clyde Avery who will deliver it to Barnes and Thornburg representatives to ensure it could be a COVID-19 reimbursable expense.
