Bremen Town Council Wants Employees to Wear Masks

The Bremen Town Council members are asking employees to wear masks as a safety measure against COVID-19.

Town Council President Bill Daily brought up the subject during the council’s meeting on Monday evening saying it’s important to keep everyone as safe as possible due to the increase of positive COVID-19 case numbers in the Bremen area.  He suggested that all employees wear masks while performing town business.

Council member Michael Leman thinks masks are only needed when employees are indoors or in close quarters, like inside town vehicles.  Police officers should wear a mask if responding to an issue where they may be inside a residence or facility, or transporting a suspect to the Marshall County Jail in Plymouth.  Firefighters responding to a call should also be protected with a mask.  The council members agreed with his comments.

Bremen Director of Operations Trend Weldy said he would inform the employees of the council’s decision.
