Marshall County Highway Superintendent Jason Peters updated the commissioners last week on the June distribution for Motor Vehicle Highway and Local Roads and Streets funds.
Peters noted that the Motor Vehicle Highway fund was about $90,050 less than at this time in 2019 and the Local Roads and Streets fund is about $16,000 less than in 2019. The total shortfall so far this year in both accounts is nearly $147,500.
Auditor Julie Fox noted that revenues will continue to go down as the effects of COVID-19 continue. Peters thought that the June distribution was reflective of April funding, but wasn’t quite sure.
Peters expects more in the loss of revenues in 2021.
