The Marshall County Commissioners will consider an intergovernmental agreement between the county and the City of Plymouth for the Pioneer Drive detour when they meet this morning.
At the last commissioners meeting, Marshall County Highway Superintendent Jason Peters explained that he’s been working with Plymouth City Engineer Rick Gaul about using 7B Road from Pine Road to Oak Road as a detour for traffic in that area. The intersection with U.S. 30 and Pioneer Drive will be closed for the reconstruction of that intersection. Gaul believes that the detour will be used for two months.
The purpose of the project is to widen a portion of Pioneer Drive in Plymouth to three lanes to accommodate an increase in truck traffic in that area north of U.S. 30 to 7B Road. The project is expected to go to bid this month.
In other business, Building Commissioner Chuck DeWitt will discuss the Unsafe Building Board reorganization, plus penalties and fines. Community Corrections Director Ward Byers will seek permission to apply for the Community Corrections grant, and Coroner John Grolich will talk about the construction of a county morgue.
Plan Director Ty Adley will present a discussion on the Sickmiller Submission and Laurie Johnson from DLZ will have information abut the HVAC air quality monitoring system.
Highway Superintendent Jason Peters, County Attorney Jim Clevenger and Auditor Julie Fox will have their regular reports.
The Marshall County Commissioners will meet at 9:30 a.m. today in the second floor meeting room (room 203) in the Marshall County Building at 112 W. Jefferson Street in Plymouth.
