Argos utility customers are encouraged to pay delinquent utility bills before June 30.
Clerk-Treasurer Lisa Mullaney reminded the Argos Town Council members recently that the governor’s moratorium on utility shutoffs expires on June 30. She said several customers are still delinquent and may face a utility shutoff on July 1. Notices have been sent to those customers who need to get those bills paid by June 30.
Mullaney said the late fees were waived for April and May as the town’s way of easing a portion of the burden on its customers.
In the meantime, the town council will look into allowing the fire department to fill swimming pools of customers who are in arrears with utility bills.
