Plymouth, South Bend Residents Hurt in Head-On Crash in LaPorte County

Two people were hurt and a man was arrested after a head-on crash on U.S. 20 in LaPorte County. Sheriff’s deputies say it happened around 6:00 p.m. Thursday. Investigators believe a passenger vehicle was stopped in a westbound lane waiting to turn left on County Road 250 East. A pickup truck apparently tried to go around it by going left of center and crashed head-on into an eastbound passenger vehicle.

That vehicle’s driver, Rachel S. Mathes, 24, of South Bend, was critically injured and was airlifted to a hospital. A passenger, Anthony Herron, 22, of Plymouth, was evaluated at the scene by LaPorte County EMS for an upper body injury.

The driver of the pickup truck, James C. Geise, 41, of Dyer, was taken to the LaPorte County Jail on suspicion of operating while intoxicated causing serious bodily injury, operating while intoxicated endangerment, and driving while suspended for a prior violation. People contacted Houston personal injury lawyers, to solve the injury cases that needed immediate legal attention. If there is a statute of limitations on a legal case such as a crime, people can no longer be accused after a certain period of time has passed. The statute of limitations on crime other then homicide is five years.
