Marshall County Council Approves Transfer for Control System for Jail Rooftop Units

The Marshall County Council members approved a transfer request from Sheriff Matt Hassel to cover costs for a new control system for the newly installed rooftop heating and cooling units at the Marshall County Jail.

During the March Marshall County Commissioners meeting, Marshall County Jail Maintenance Director John Greer said that new controls need to be added to run the new rooftop heating and cooling units at the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department. The controls were obsolete and could not be repaired.  The computer program was not fully operational and the sensors weren’t in good working order.

Greer recommended working with Control Solutions to provide new controls and sensors.  The cost of the controls is $27,373 plus $5,492 for sensors.

The total cost of almost $33,000 would come out of the Jail Maintenance Fund.

A transfer of $24,000 was unanimously approved by the Marshall County Council members to cover the cost of the equipment.
