Marshall County Campgrounds to Stay Closed, Governor to Update Operations Friday

In a press gathering on Thursday morning, Marshall County Commission President Kevin Overmyer said they are following the direction of County Health Officer Dr. Byron Holm when it comes to certain regulations.

The campgrounds will stay closed under Dr. Holm’s order or until otherwise directed by Governor Eric Holcomb.  The governor is expected to update the state on the state of operation on Friday afternoon.

Marshall County Health Department officers have been busy meeting with restaurant owners and small business owners on guidelines to open their doors to in-person dining and shoppers.  He said the Lear Corporation has an extensive return-to-work policy that the county may use as a template when fashioning guidelines for other businesses and industry in the county.  Overmyer said they want to be careful to prevent an outbreak in the workplace.  Social distancing will be the key.

Overmyer said he’s not sure what will happen for sure with restaurant operations, but the Health Department is working with restaurant owners on a safe way to resume operations.
