Bremen School Board Tout Efforts of Staff, Students during Pandemic

The Bremen School Board members took time last week to thank all of the teachers, food service staff, administrators, bus drivers, and students for their efforts during the pandemic.

Superintendent Dr. Jim White, and Principals Bruce Jennings and Larry Yelaska said teachers are working hard to work with students on a virtual level to continue education throughout the rest of the school year.  Teachers trained for several days once eLearning was to be the method of teaching since the first school closure announcement in mid-March and they’ve been working around the clock to make sure the lessons and instruction are delivered.

All administrators and teachers are encouraging students to complete their school work.  Students who do not complete work may not get the credits needed to keep on track.

Teachers have been using Google Hangout and Zoom to connect with students and to bring together classes for instruction and fellowship.

The food service staff members have been preparing up to 600 lunches for students with bus delivery every day.  Dr. White said the meal delivery may cease following the school year, but that decision hasn’t been officially made.
