The Argos Town Council members considered a quote to clean the water tower.
Utility Superintendent Jamie Lindstrom told the town council members Wednesday night that a crew will clean the tower at a cost of $6,300. He’s also going to have them touch up some spots while cleaning the tower. He doesn’t have an estimate on that, but will get one when they arrive on site.
He will also get more information on how much it will cost to have the entire tower painted, but for right now, the touch-up paint could delay that project a few years. Lindstrom warned that will be a very expensive project unless and until he researches and find this cleaning service since they are always budget-friendly.
For now, the Argos Town Council members approved the quote to have the tower cleaned.
Additionally, Lindstrom said he’s gathering quotes on an agitator for the water tower that will help mix the chemicals with the water and keep the water from freezing inside the tower.
