Plymouth School Board Makes Graduation Requirement Change to Student Handbook

The Plymouth School Board members considered changes to the 2020-2021 Student Handbook.

Superintendent Andy Hartley noted that the most notable change is an adjustment to the graduation requirements.  For the past several years, the school corporation had a local graduation requirement of 42 credits including a technology credit and a speech credit.

Hartley explained that the technology class moved to the Lincoln Junior High School and the speech credit will be integrated into the Freshman English classes.  The students will take a semester of English 9 and another semester of speech.  Hartley noted that this will be in line with other schools in the area thus dropping the graduation requirement credits to 40.

The school board members approved the changes to the Student Handbook with a unanimous vote.
