Marshall County Officials Working to Get Supplies

Marshall County officials are attempting to get donations of supplies or purchasing supplies to assist the long-term care facilities to helping to fight the spread of COVID-19.

In a conference call Tuesday morning, Health Nurse Lisa Letsinger said N95 masks, gowns, gloves, face shields, and disinfectant are needed to help these facilities.

Marshall County Commission President Kevin Overmyer said a company in Bristol, Indiana produced about 50 gallons of hand sanitizer and Commissioner Stan Klotz was picking it up Tuesday morning.  Highway Superintendent Jason Peters was able to secure 500 N95 masks from a company he works with when it comes to chip and seal operations  Those masks will be ready next week while another 300 masks will be coming this week from another company.

Officials at the Culver Academies are also donating supplies to those in need.

The Marshall County Health Department was able to distribute supplies to long-term care facilities on Monday, but more donations are needed.

Many items are not able to be ordered at this time as stock is low.

If community members, business owners or manufacturing leaders can donate supplies, call the Marshall County Health Department at 574-935-8565.
