The Bremen Town Council members approved several resolutions Monday afternoon that deal with the response to COVID-19.
They declared a public health emergency in an effort to be reimbursed for any expenses used to help fight the spread of COVID-19.
Clerk-Treasurer Janet Anglemyer was given the authority to pay any valid claims that would otherwise be presented in a public meeting. Council President Bill Daily will approve those claims.
Bremen Director of Operations Trend Weldy said that there is no reduction in force at this time and all employees continue to work. That may change to only essential employees, but that is not in force yet.
Weldy did note that the Bremen parks remain open for walking, running or bike riding, but residents should adhere to social distancing guidelines. The playground and other structures are closed due to the high risk of increasing the spread of COVID-19. This will be reevaluated on April 6.
