The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members considered a street closure request for the upcoming ARTS in the Street event in Plymouth.
Heartland Artists Gallery President Anna Kietzman said North Michigan Street will be closed from Laporte to Washington Streets for the event, plus half of Garro Street toward Center Street and half of Garro Street toward Water Street.
The road closure will be for the event on Saturday, June 27 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Kietzman added that the wine and beer garden would be part of the event as well.
For the first time, Kietzman said they’re making portable toilets available to those who attend the event to relieve that burden on downtown business owners. She said about 1,000 people attended the event last year so the facilities would work out in the best interest of all involved. She will work with Street Superintendent Jim Marquardt to figure out their best placement when the event draws near.
The board members approved all aspects of the ARTS in the Street event with a unanimous event.
