The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety (BPWS) approved the request for a temporary street closure south bound on Michigan St. from September 6 to the 16th made by Center Twp. Trustee Amy Knapp for the purpose of painting the concrete structure below the Michigan St. Viaduct.

The 4th annual Art in the Street event is set for Saturday in downtown Plymouth.
It’s an art block party as art vendors will cascade Michigan Street from LaPorte to Garro Streets. Oil paintings, stained glass, photography, ceramics, metal work, watercolor, knitted items, hand-beaded semi-precious stone jewelry, and cutting boards are just a few of the things you’ll find from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
New housing, parks, and job opportunities are a few of the things Plymouth residents can expect to see in the near future, according to Mayor Mark Senter. Marshall County is now home to Jibey the bison. That’s the name chosen for the commemorative Bison-tennial statue unveiled Friday at the Marshall County Historical Society Museum in Plymouth.
Kathy Zentz with Heartland Artists Gallery says 11 Heartland artists spent nearly 200 hours painting the statue. She says the scenes on the five-foot tall animal depict the different communities and townships in Marshall County. His mane features the names of towns from days gone by, or places like Burr Oak and Donaldson that have shrunk considerably over the past 200 years. Continue reading
Marshall County and the City of Plymouth will be commemorating Indiana’s bicentennial by installing a fiberglass bison sculpture in Downtown Plymouth. It’s part of the Bison-tennial Public Art Project, coordinated by the Indiana Association of United Ways. Continue reading

Bruce Langton is scheduled to do a gallery talk and book signing there this evening.
