Marshall County Commissioners Approve New Vehicle Purchase for Community Corrections

Marshall County Community Corrections will be getting a new vehicle following actions by the Marshall County Commissioners and Marshall County Council.

Community Corrections Director Ward Byers previously went before the Marshall County Council to ask for approval to spend $20,000 out of the Community Transition Fund out of the Community Corrections budget. That request was approved. The Marshall County Community Corrections Advisory Board members previously gave their blessing for the purchase.

Byers said he got a quote from Country Auto for a 2019 Chevy Equinox for $19,850 with an additional warranty in the amount of $2,515.  A quote from Oliver Ford Lincoln was received for a 2017 Ford Taurus with 13,400 miles on it with a 100,000 mile Ford premium car warranty in the amount of $20,000. 

Byers asked the commissioners to approve the purchase with Oliver Ford Lincoln and they did so with a unanimous vote.  Byers additionally requested a pre-pay authorization for the vehicle which was also approved with a unanimous vote.
