Plymouth City Council Considers Proposal for Financial Planning

The Plymouth City Council members considered a request from Clerk-Treasurer Jeanine Xaver to have Baker Tilly officials assist her in creating a five year projection on funding capital improvements.

City Attorney Sean Surrisi made the request on behalf of Xaver Monday night.

“This would help us to identify where we can budget in some of those projects and where some of the needs that are going to be bubbling up in the various department over a five year period could be paid for,” said Surrisi.

Surrisi said that the proposal is for $35,000.  The report would detail every fund for analysis.

He added that a lot of the work would be done internally with department heads to figure out what the priorities are and work out those details for analysis by Baker Tilly representatives.

If there are more details that need to be done, then hourly fees would be assessed if that work is requested.

Funding was worked into the clerk-treasurer’s budget to pay for the proposal as a similar action was thought of two years ago, according to Surrisi.

The Plymouth City Council members approved the proposal with a unanimous vote.
