Marshall County Council to Meet Today

(L to R) Jack Roose, Penny Lukenbill, Jon Van Vactor, Judy Stone, James Masterson, Mandy Campbell, Heath Thornton

The Marshall County Council members will meet today where they will consider what action to take, if any, on two ordinances that pertain to the proposed jail expansion project.  They are listed on the advance agenda as items for discussion by the council members.

The General Obligation Bond ordinance lays out the perimeters for financing a General Obligation bond to finance the expansion.  Phil Faccenda, Jr. from Barnes and Thornburg previously explained that the perimeters in the ordinance would allow for the bonds to be issued in an amount not to exceed $17,250,000 with a 20-year financing period.  An additional appropriation ordinance gives the council permission to spend the proceeds of those bonds.

In addition, Marshall County Museum Director Linda Rippy will give a quarterly report from the Historical Society.  Sheriff Matt Hassel will present the commissary reports and budgets for review.  He will also ask for a probationary pay waiver and a request to apply for the Marine Patrol Assistance and SAVE grants.

Marshall County Highway Superintendent Jason Peters will discuss repairs done since the 2018 flood and Human Resources Administrator Ann Anglin will present job descriptions.

The Marshall County Council will meet at 9 a.m. in the second floor meeting room (Room 203) in the Marshall County Building at 112 W. Jefferson Street in Plymouth.
