The Culver Beach Lodge project is expected to be substantially complete by the beginning of March.
Culver Town Manager Jonathan Leist said crews have been working throughout this mild winter to complete much of the work to complete the renovation of the historic Culver Beach Lodge. The walls are being painted, some siding work is unfinished, the porch enclosure is nearly done, the upstairs flooring started this week, the installation of insulation is almost done with the help of experts from theatticdoctors.com, the sprinkler system is nearing completion and countertops are being installed. The elevator is on site with installation to begin soon.
The renovation is being funded with OCRA grant funds through the town’s designation as Stellar Community. Per the terms of the grant, the Culver Beach Lodge project is expected to be substantially complete by March 31 and Leist is confident that the deadline will be met.
OCRA grant funds will also be used for the Cavalier Sports Park project. The remaining playground equipment and restroom building kit will arrive in mid-February. The Cavalier Sports Park project includes improvements to the soccer fields on the grounds of the Culver Community School Corporation, expanding the parking lots, moving the storm water retention pond to the east, building a restroom facility near the fields, adding a toddler park, and a walking trail on the perimeter of the park.
The Paddocks housing development is underway. The first building should be ready for occupancy in October.
