The Argos Clerk-Treasurer’s Office will get an upgrade in software to help with payroll, accounting, and utility billing.
Clerk-Treasurer Lisa Mullaney previously obtained four quotes for new software and narrowed it down to Fray and BS&A who submitted the lowest quotes.
Based on discussions with other representatives who conduct similar work with payroll, accounting and utility billing, Mullaney suggested going with a quote from BS&A at a cost of $72,620.
She told the Argos Town Council members last week that the computer system currently utilized by the town will work with the new software so additional equipment is not needed. She said the representatives she spoke to who utilize BS&A have had very good luck with the program.
The reporting files will convert to coincide with the State’s Gateway reporting system and it should work with email billing and credit card payments.
Mullaney noted that the switch-over process will take between 6 to 8 months, which was the same time frame given by the other companies who submitted quotes.
Among all of the other aspects of the programming, the town council members noted that the BS&A quote appeared to have the lowest annual cost for maintenance, licensing and registration.
The Argos Town Council members approved the quote from BS&A with a unanimous vote. They made it a part of the motion that any installation costs that go over the quote amount will be brought before them for approval. The funds to pay for the software will come from all of the departments who utilize the software.
