Argos Street Department Superintendent Jamie Lindstrom told the town council members last week that the Community Crossings application was submitted to INDOT that has several streets slated for upgrades.
Dewey Street is expected to be widened in order to accommodate heavy truck traffic from Sequel Wire. The company is occupying a manufacturing center at that location. The road will be reconstructed to better handle that traffic.
Lindstrom said the ditch in front of the property at the railroad crossing was fixed by the street crews with tile last week. He said it was suggested that the area be repaired before a paving company widens the road. The area was slated for a guardrail, but that is no longer needed since the area was built up.
Other streets included for mill and fill operations include Railroad, Apple, Clinton, Cherry, Church, and West Streets.
Lindstrom said he will find out if the Town is awarded Community Crossings Matching Grant funds in March or April.
