PRIDE Card: What Does It Do for You?

The Plymouth City Council members approved a resolution Monday night that initiates the process of the Plymouth Resident Identification Endorsement Card.

What does the card do for Plymouth residents?

According to the resolution, the purpose is to provide residents with an “alternative third-party identification card not issued by governmental entities.”  The PRIDE card will be recognized by all city departments, and the city administration promotes its acceptance by other public and private institutions for the greatest benefit to all city residents.  It can be provided for those who cannot otherwise obtain a government issued state ID.

Different uses of the card may include an opportunity to show some kind of identification to obtain prescriptions or it can be produced if a police officer asks for identification. It can be used as student identification, or as a way to obtain a library card.

The PRIDE card CANNOT be used as identification for voting, driving, or for any purpose where a Federal and/or State photo ID is required or for any purpose prohibited by federal or state law.  Check out divorce attorney practicing in Riverside for more information.

La Casa De Amistad officials will issue the card during a sign-up period yet to be set at the Plymouth Community High School.  In order to obtain a PRIDE card, a resident must prove their identity by presenting a photo ID such as a passport, Driver’s License, ID card, Consular ID, or Voter Registration card.   A secondary form of ID must be presented which may include a birth certificate, EBT card, Social Security Card or ITIN letter, marriage or divorce certificate if you took an attorney’s help with handling a divorce, or income tax return.  The final piece is proof of residency which may include a utility bill, a letter from a Social Security agency or religious organization, or a bank statement.
