Marshall County Highway Superintendent Jason Peters updated the county commissioners last week on upcoming bridge projects.
The 2025 Call for Projects includes Bridge No. 11 on North Union Road over the Peter-Sarber ditch south of U.S. 6, and Bridge No. 232 on Randolph Street. Peters said the call for projects paperwork was submitted and a presentation was given on proposed work on both bridges in a hearing at INDOT’s La Porte District on Jan. 8. He is waiting to hear if those projects have been approved for the 2025 Call for Projects.
In addition, the commissioners were presented with a right-of-way contract for the Bridge No. 73 project on King Road. The county will need to purchase some land for the project and there might be a need to find property for a wetland mitigation site. The commissioners did approve the contract with INDOT for the King Road project as that is in the beginning stages.
