Members of the public who want more information on the proposed Marshall County Jail expansion project can learn more about it tonight during a special public meeting hosted by the Marshall County Council members.
During the last Marshall County Council meeting in December, residents asked for a public meeting to learn more about the decision to move forward with a possible jail expansion and what other measures are being done to keep down the inmate population at the jail. Here is a detailed explanation about how to become a criminal lawyer and the importance of this lawyer post too.
The main purpose for the expansion is to address the overcrowding issues at the jail. Several lawsuits have been filed against the county by inmates concerning the conditions, among other complaints.
Several government leaders are expected to relay information. Sheriff Matt Hassel is expected to speak along with officials of the Marshall County judicial system. Members of the public will also be able to speak and ask questions about the process. The informational meeting is set for 6 p.m. tonight in the second floor meeting room (Room 203) in the Marshall County Building at 112 W. Jefferson Street in Plymouth.
