The Marshall County Commissioners will reorganize and make appointments when they meet this morning.
More discussion is planned surrounding amendments to the solar and fee ordinances. During their last meeting, Plan Director Ty Adley explained the main purpose of the revision was to address large-scale solar arrays or installations due to scale and number of panels associated with such a project. The commissioners expressed concerns with the decommissioning of a large solar energy system and who is responsible for that clean-up and restoration of the land. Bonding for that process was also a concern. How much energy is staying in the county for use was also questioned as some companies farm out the energy to other communities and out-of-state.
In other business, ordinances that deal with the personnel policy handbook, the Marshall County broadband readiness community designation and the Title VI nondiscrimination implementation plan and policy will be considered.
The commissioners are also expected to talk about the sale of county property for the construction of a manufacturing center in Plymouth.
Sheriff Matt Hassel will present a sheriff’s contract, the Quality Correctional medical care contract, and a travel request, while Highway Superintendent Jason Peters, Auditor Julie Fox and County Attorney Jim Clevenger will have their regular updates for the commissioners.
The Marshall County Commissioners will meet today at 8:30 a.m. in the second floor meeting room (Room 203) in the Marshall County Building at 112 W. Jefferson Street in Plymouth.
