The Marshall County Commissioners began Monday morning’s meeting with reorganization and reappointment of department heads.
During their first meeting of the new year, the commissioners retained Kevin Overmyer as the president of the commissioners while Stan Klotz was retained as vice president.
The following department heads were reappointed to their positions for another year: EMA Director Clyde Avery; Courthouse, County Building and Museum Building and Grounds Supervisor Doug Masterson, Jail Building and Grounds Supervisor John Greer, Museum Director Linda Rippy, IT Director Michael Marshall, Veterans Service Officer Pam Schweizer-Betz, Building Commissioner Chuck DeWitt, Weights and Measures Officer Jerry Huss, and Highway Superintendent Jason Peters.
The commissioners also voted to retain Jim Clevenger as the county’s attorney. A contract will be approved in a future meeting. Clevenger noted that the terms and compensation will be unchanged from 2019.
Commissioner Kevin Overmyer was reappointed to the Central Dispatch Committee and the county’s representative for the Michiana Area Council of Governments. Commissioner Stan Klotz was reappointed to the Marshall County Plan Commission and will start a term on the Safety Committee. Commissioner Michael Burroughs was appointed to the Unsafe Building Committee.
