Argos Police Chief Discusses Code-Enforcement on Short Street with Town Council

Argos Police Chief Corey Bowman and Clerk-Treasurer Lisa Mullaney provided the Town Council with some information about a property on Short Street when members met for their second meeting of the month.

Chief Bowman told the council that he was informed a Short Street property was addressed by the Plan Commission while he was on vacation. He added that he wanted members to be aware that he has been addressing code-enforcement issues at the residence for awhile and has issued tickets.

Clerk-Treasurer Mullaney said the only reason it was discussed by the Plan Commission was because the owner submitted a request to split off the property. However, they didn’t take action on it since there is apparently an issue with the way the property looks.

Mullaney noted that Town officials receieved a letter that was signed by five neighbors who said they believe the property needs to be cleaned up. She said the Plan Commission voted to table the request until the property is cleaned.
