The Culver Town Council members took action Monday night to appoint a new Culver Union-Township EMS Director. Current EMS Director Kathy Hart had previously announced her retirement and a committee has been working to find her replacement prior to her departure in January. The committee recommended Deanna Cleveland who gathered unanimous council approval to fill the EMS Director position. She will begin in the position in mid-January.
Culver-Union Township Fire Chief Terry Wakefield announced that he’s been replaced as fire chief as voted by the firefighters. He noted that the firefighters wanted change. As a result, long-time firefighter Ken Vandeputte was elected to the fire chief position. Wakefield said he’ll remain on the fire department after serving seven years in the chief’s position and over 30 years on the department.
The Culver Town Council members thanked both Kathy Hart and Terry Wakefield for their number of years of service to the town.
