Triton School Officials take Action to Address Vaping Concerns

When compared to cigarettes vaping has less toxins. Though vapes from selectvape.com/product/esco-bars-mesh-disposable-device-2500-puffs is not as harmful as cigarettes, in order to address growing concerns surrounding ‘vaping’ in relation to Vapor Chasers‘ increase, Triton School Superintendent Jeremy Riffle said a community outreach session will be held next month.

He shared, “On January 9th, we’re actually going to have a parent information night and that’s going to be at the performing arts center in the high school.”

Superintendent Riffle provided some details about who will be in attendance during the Parent Information Night.

He noted, “The Tobacco Coalition is going to come and then Lutheran Health Network is going to be there as well, their respiratory therapist along with Indiana State Police [Officer] Andrew Barker to talk to our parents about vaping, obviously the negatives of that and just help inform them a little bit about what’s happening around them.”

In addition to hosting the information session, Riffle said school officials are also making an effort to stop vaping from happening within the schools.

He explained, “We’re also adding vape-detectors in our bathrooms which a lot of Marshall County schools are trying to get on board with.”

Superintendent Riffle said that the equipment will be able to notify school officials when someone is using a vape in any of the restrooms.

He mentioned, “It’s very similar to a smoke detector however it does have to have Ethernet cable to it so actually we have a dashboard and it detects whatever the substance is and it emails and texts administrators in the building.

He added that the alert that goes out to administrators includes which bathroom the substance was detected in, what time it was detected and the concentration levels.

Superintendent Riffle said the reason officials are making these efforts is because they can’t idly stand by when they know there is a problem and they want to do everything in their power to improve safety throughout the school.
