Road work on 9B Road from Union to County Line Road in Marshall County went a little over budget.
Marshall County Highway Superintendent Jason Peters told the county council members on Monday that an additional $26,000 is needed to complete funding the project.
“Once the project started, we ended up expanding the road and making it wider,” stated Peters. “With the addition of the widening, it took a little bit extra to wedge and level. There was an extra tonnage for the surface and extra tonnage for shoulder material.”
With the additional appropriation, the total project cost would be nearly $290,000.
The Marshall County Council members voiced support for the additional appropriation. Official action will occur in January after the additional appropriation is advertised.
