John Glenn School Board Approves Support Staff Raise

John Glenn School Board

Support staff members at the John Glenn School Corporation will receive a raise following action by the school board Tuesday night.

Superintendent Christopher Winchell said he and Business Manager Tom Bendy crunched numbers in the budget in order to give non-certified, or support, staff a three percent raise to the base salary, effective Jan. 1, 2020.

“Additionally, as part of this three percent base increase, we are also recommending a five-hundred-dollar increase to the non-certified insurance benefit,” stated Winchell.  “Currently, we pay 60 percent of a family plan and we pay 70 percent of a single plan.  It’s our recommendation to give that additional five-hundred-dollar payment.  It will also help streamline some of the accounting we do in the business office.”

The school board approved the recommendation with a unanimous vote.
