Marshall County Highway Superintendent Jason Peters presented a tentative road program plan for 2020 to the Marshall County Commissioners on Dec. 16.
Peters said the program is over the budget and will be scaled back, but it gives the department a start and an idea of what could be expected in 2021.
The budget is about $1.4 to $1.7 million and over $3.5 million worth of work is proposed in the program. Peters uses the Asset Management Program as way to help gauge what comes next in the terms of replacement, repair or reclamation.
About 23 miles of roads are the proposed paving list while 50 miles of chip and seal operations are included, as well as 17 miles of roads to be considered for reclamation, double and triple seal, and about 3 miles of crack sealing. That list will be somewhat narrowed as road conditions are reviewed following the winter season.
